KABUL (Pajhwok): The curriculum change process till class sixth has been completed with the removal of text which was un-Islamic and against the culture of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Education (MoE) said on Tuesday.
Education Ministry’s Spokesperson Mansour Ahmad Hamza told National Radio Television the curriculum change process till class sixth had been completed and work on the 7th, 8th and 9th class was underway by the technical committees.
“The Ministry of Education has changed the current curriculum up to the sixth grade. Some books whose meaning was in conflict with our Islamic traditions and Afghan culture were removed, and any content that was in conflict with Islamic traditions and Afghan culture was removed from the books,” he said.
Hamza said in the past two years 40,000 new teachers, including women, had been hired and 972 schools got buildings.
He reaffirmed the MoE resolve to provide student balanced services in the area of education and training.
