KABUL (Pajhwok): A four-way meeting on the current situation in Afghanistan is expected the end of January, says a Russian diplomat.
The Russian presidential envoy for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, Russia, China, Iran and Pakistan would participate in the meeting.
Kabulov told TASS news agency: "The meeting is being prepared. The dates and venue will be announced later.”
Hoping that the event would be held before the end of the current month, the envoy believed the recent exchange of strikes between Iran and Pakistan would not scuttle preparations.
"No, there are no such concerns," Kabulov commented, saying the participants would focus on interaction with the interim Afghan government.
The participants are expected to exchange views on an inclusive government, as well as the need for combating terrorism and narcotics.
