AIBAK (Pajhwok): Five ancient artifacts discovered in northern Samangan province have been handed over to the Information and Culture Department, an official said on Saturday.
Mohammad Amin Azizi, an official of Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News these ancient artifacts included a pot, a water jug and a shoe.
He said these artifacts were discovered by a resident of Dalkhi village of Aibak, the provincial capital, and submitted to police headquarter and today (Saturday) it was handed over to the Information and Culture Department.
He added it was yet to be determined these artifacts belong to whom, but after the archaeological remains are tested in the laboratory, it will be known by the archeology team of the Ministry of Information and Culture.
Earlier, 12 ancient artifacts belonging to the Western Kushans period were handed over to Information and Culture Department of the province.
