KABUL (Pajhwok): League-A futsal tournament featuring 18 teams commenced in Kabul on Tuesday, with Delawar Turkmanzada and Esaar teams registering their victories.
Afghanistan Football Federation spokesman Mustafa Hashimi told Pajhwok Afghan News the futsal tournament was aimed at promoting the sport.
The champions and runners up will enter the Premier League, but the last two teams would be demoted to futsal league B, he explained.
Hashimi said Delawar Turkmanzada team beat Shahid Panah 4-1 and Esar team thrashed Mukhaberat team 5-2 on the day first of the competitions.
