KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has appointed Maghfoorullah Shahab as acting ambassador to Uzbekistan after assuming full charge of the embassy in Tashkent, says a credible source.
According to reports, Shahab was appointed as the first secretary in the Afghan embassy in Tashkent two months ago and the diplomatic affaire were being carried out by the previous ambassador Ahmad Khalil Elmi.
A well-placed source told Pajhwok Afghan News that Shahab has been named as the new Chargé d Affaires of Afghanistan in Tashkent.
Shahab is the son of acting minster of mines and petroleum Shahabuddin Dilawar.
The IEA says Afghanistan currently has 17 envoys in foreign countries.
