TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Three members of a family died from gas asphyxiation in northern Takhar province, police said, but residents put the death toll at six.
Police spokesman Mubin Safai told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in a house where three members of the family died in Cheshma Shir area of Taloqan city late Monday night.
Meanwhile, Sadam Hussain, a resident, said three people lost their lives inside the house and another three persons who were rushed to hospital in an unconscious state died there.
According to him, the victims included two men, one woman and three children.
