KABUL (Pajhwok): The editor-in-chief of Khaama press, Mansoor Nekmal, was released on Sunday in Kabul.

On Saturday, Nekmal was detained after being summoned to the Ministry of Vice and Virtue, the Afghanistan Journalist Center (AFJC) said in a statement.

Nekmal confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that he was released today at around 10:00am.

Khushnoud Nabizada, director of Khaama Press, said that Mansoor Nekmal had been summoned by a person who introduced himself as the spokesman of the MoVV in connection with a report regarding hijab.

Nekmal has been working as editor-in-chief of Khaama Press in Kabul since last two years.

The IEA has not yet commented in this regard.
