TRINKOT (Pajhwok): The Governor of Central Uruzgan Province Mawlavi Mohammad Ali Jan has pledged development and prosperity in the province through the generation of jobs and recovery of usurped land.
Addressing reporters here he said the contracts of 11 out of total 40 identified mines had been inked and the extraction work will start soon.
He said the extraction of these mines would help generate jobs for the people.
He said in the past one year they were able to identify 24,000 acres state land out of which 4,500 acres recovered.
He said development projects worth $35 million had been implemented by state run and private organization in which around 150,000 people had been provided with jobs.
Governor Mawlaiv Ali Jan said the construction of buildings for 12 schools also completed during the period.
