MoU signed to improve students’ research capacity

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Agriculture and the University of Badakhshan about the research capacity building of students has been inked, official said on Monday.

Agriculture Department Head Qari Qutbuddin Dehnawi during the MoU signing ceremony said that the purpose of MoU was to booster the capacity of agriculture faculty’s students in the field of research.

The students would then be able to continue their research in the districts of Badakhshan province and serve their communities, Dehnawi said.

He asked the lecturers of agriculture faculty and other officials of the university to share the positive results of their researches with the farmers of that province.

Head of agriculture faculty Aminullah Amin, considered MoU important and necessary to improve the capacity of practical and theoretical knowledge of students and said that in the past, due to the lack of a research farm, the students could not conduct research practical work.

He added that more than 600 students in the field of agriculture in four departments are engaged in theoretical studies, fortunately the field of research and practical work was also provided for them with the signing of this memorandum.
