GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A 16-year-old boy died in hospital from wounds he sustained in a blast caused by an old mortar shell in the capital of southern Ghazni province on Wednesday.
Police spokesman Abu Khalid Sarhadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Arzo area in the limits of third police district of Ghazni City at noon.
He said Shabir, 16, had found the unexploded ordance and wanted to take it home.
The shell exploded, seriously injuring Shabir, who later succumbed to his wounds at hospital.
