JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has donated solar powered refrigerators to 20 health centers worth 200,000 US dollars in eastern Nangarhar province.
Officials say solar powered refrigerators were given to health centers for preservation of essential medicines.
Public Health Director Maulvi Aminullah Sharifi said they received the refrigerators from UNICEF worth 200,000 US dollars.
He said these refrigerators would be given to health centers that lacked electricity.
He added the refrigerators were equipped with solar powered system and their activation would preserve medicines.
While delivering the refrigerators, UNICEF officials in the east zone requested relevant agencies to pay attention to the maintenance of these refrigerators.
