Snow clogs Uruzgan-Kandahar highway

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Heavy snowfall has clogged the Uruzgan-Kandahar highway in central Uruzgan province, leaving stranded passengers, police said on Sunday.

Police spokesman Bilal Uruzgani told Pajhwok Afghan News the Uruzgan-Kandahar highway was closed in Gardi Nigaw area of Shah Walikot district due to heavy snowfall and rain last night.

Uruzgani said efforts were underway to reopen the highway for traffic as soon as possible.
