Nearly 60 acres of state land wrested back in a month: MoJ

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Justice has wrested back nearly 60 acres of state land from usurpers in 10 provinces during the past one month and handed the plots over to relevant government agencies.

The MoJ in a press release said it investigated, registered and reclaimed 119,661 jirbs of state land in ten provinces of the country and handed it over to the relevant authorities in 1402.

Most of the reclaimed lands measuring about 113,000 jirbs are located in Kandahar, Badakhshan and Maidan Wardak provinces.

The ministry said the technical delegation of the Land Grab Prevention Commission had also identified 236,795 jirbs of state land in 20 provinces and about 327,648 jirbs of land is under investigation in other provinces.

The Ministry of Justice said the process of investigation, consolidation and restoration of state lands was ongoing in all province.

The commission concerned is investigating the cases of thousands of acres of confiscated lands.
