Chinese firm head vows to protect relics at copper mine site

<p style="text-align: justify;">KABUL (Pajhwok): The new head of the Mes Aynak Copper Mine’s contracting company has assured that the project would be started by considering protection of historic relics in the area.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Song Win Bing met deputy Information and Culture Minister Mualvi Atiqullah Azizi, the Ministry of Information and Culture wrote on its website.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The new head of the Mes Aynak Copper Mine Contracting Company said that historical relics found at the Mes Aynak Copper Mine site are the asset of not only Afghanistan, but the entire humanity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He assured serious attention would paid to the safety of historical monuments in the work area.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Bing said the Chinese government had approved the copper mining plan and they were implementing the project in cooperation with cultural institutions so that historical relics were not destroyed.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Considered the largest mine in Afghanistan and the second largest in the world, the Mes Aynak Copper mine is located in Mohammad Agha District of central Logar province.</p>
