IEA opponents’ political activities disallowed in Iran: Murtazavi

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) political opponents lived a refugee life in Iran and were not allowed to be active politically, according to a statement from the acting deputy prime minister’s political office on Monday.

The statement quoted Iranian Deputy Ambassador to Afghanistan Syed Hassan Murtazavi as saying during a meeting with the acting Deputy Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Kabir.

Hailing the IEA political policy regarding recent international events, Murtazavi and Mawlavi Abdul Kabir discussed the promotion of Kabul-Tehran ties.

Murtazavi said the IEA’s political opponents living in Iran lived a refugee life and did not have permission for political activities.

Mawlaiv Abdul Kabir welcomed the Iranian envoy and termed their response to Israel’s attack as the legitimate right of Tehran.

He thanked Iran’s cooperation with Afghanistan and stressed over the expansion of the Tehran-Kabul relationship. He said IEA wanted cordial ties with the neighboring countries.
