MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): For the first time, a private transportation company has established a bus terminal on the Herat-Mazar-i-Sharif highway in northern Balkh province.

Zabihullah Mujahid, director of land transportation, said the terminal was aimed at preventing traffic congestion and to facilitate passengers.

He said 50 new buses would ply the Balkh-Herat highway from the terminal.

Nasrullah, director of Khulam Meland transportation company, vowed more facilities for passengers and asked the passengers in Herat to travel from the specific bus stand.

A driver on the Balkh-Herat highway, Mohammad Sami, told Pajhwok the route was shorter and cheaper than other highways.
