JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A child lost her life and four other people sustained injuries in separate rain-induced wall collapse incidents in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Sunday.
Public Health Department spokesman Naqibullah Rahimi told Pajhwok Afghan News the walls of a house collapsed in Siyasang town area of Sararud district on Saturday, injuring a six-year-old child and a 60-year-old woman.
Separately, Information and Culture Director Sediqullah Quraishi told Pajhwok that a 10-year-old girl died and two other people injured in a wall collapse incident in Rodat district.
The incident took place in Hesar Shahi area of Rodat district and the injured have been evacuated to hospital..
A day earlier, one person was killed and four others were wounded after two vehicles plunged into ravines on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway in Daronta area of Qarghiyo district in eastern Laghman province.
