ZARANJ (Pajhwok): A number of businesspeople in northwestern Nimroz province have dispatched assistance worth 3.5 million afghanis to flood-hit people in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Tuesday.
Najibullah Khashrodi, an official of Nimroz Chamber of Commerce and Investment, told Pajhwok Afghan News traders of the province had announced cash and non-cash aid to the flood-affected people of Baghlan at a meeting with the governor.
He said the aid had been sent to Baghlan province, where it would be distributed to flood-affected individuals through a committee, formed by the governor.
The governor has directed the committee to distribute the assistance in a transparent manner. The aid includes food and non-food items.
