15 houses come under mountain debris in Badakhshan

FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): At least 15 houses have been completely destroyed and 26 others being threatened after debris flow came down a mountain in northeastern Badakhshan province.

Hayatulalh Mohsen, administrative chief for Raghistan district, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the mudslide happened in Khafich village, destroying 15 houses at round 8:00pm on Tuesday night.

He added these houses were located around the mountain and the local people had already moved to another place as the mountain started moving.

Mohammad Kamgar, head of the Natural Disaster Management Authority, confirmed the incident and said a team consisting of several entities had been sent to the site to investigate the situation and financial losses.
