WCCI branch opened in Maidan Wardak

MAIDANSHAHR (Pajhwok): A Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industries (WCCI) has been opened in central Maidan Wardak province for the first time, a statement said on Tuesday.

“This Chamber is already functioning in 19 provinces in line with the Islamic Sharia and the Islamic Emirate principle, the 20th branch is opened in Maidan Wardak province,” reads the statement from the Governor House.

Eng. Mohammad Khan Zwak, head of the Maidan Wardak Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said: “There are many women in this province who have good experiences and achievements in the fields of handicrafts, dairy processing, and tomato paste and jam production.”

Economy Department Director Mawlavi Abdul Hakim Hamid termed Maidan Wardak vital for women businesses and termed the opening of WCCI a positive step in the area of trade and commerce.

He said: “Maidan Wardak is an agricultural province and the opening of WCCI was an important step.”

He assured the IEA full support for business women and their work within the framework of Islamic Sharia Law.
