FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A team of climbers, drumming up support for flood-affected people, has scaled the highest peak of Siahkoh mountain in western Ghor province.
Jan Mohammad Haidari, skipper of the Hindukush Eagles, told Pajhwok Afghan News the mountaineering mission was conducted on Tuesday.
He said: “We scaled the highest peak of the Siahkoh mountain in an attempt to attract aid for the flood-hit people of Ghor.”
Siahkoh mountain is 3,800 metres high. The Hindukush Eagles urged aid agencies, traders, the UN and the caretaker government to assist the flood-hit people.
Earlier, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) and partner organisations had provided aid to the flood victims in the province.
However, the flood-affected people called the assistance insufficient and urged more aid.
