KABUL (Pajhwok): Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during his visit to the Gulf country, media reports said on Thursday.
Zelenskyy lauded Qatar’s role in “returning children forcibly deported” by Russia. “We agreed to continue our cooperation in this area,” Aljazeera reported.
It said Zelenskyy also appreciated Doha’s support of Ukraine’s “sovereignty and territorial integrity”.
Ukraine and Qatar are set to discuss the continuation of this work both under the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children and at the upcoming global peace summit in Switzerland, the Ukrainian president announced.
Other subjects to be discussed at the summit will include the possibility of an all-for-all prisoner swap, energy and nuclear security, plus free navigation of the Black and Azov seas.
The two leaders will also discuss a number of bilateral economic and security issues.
