Rival families reconcile after 22 years in Panjsher

PARAKH (Pajhwok): The Conflict Resolution Committee in central Panjsher province says a 22-year-old enmity between two families has been resolved – thanks to local officials, ulema and elders.

The enmity between the two families began in Manjahor village of Parakh City 22 years ago and both had been living in hiding.

Mohammad Reha Ibrar, head of the conflict resolution committee, said the feud between the sons of Khanji Khan and Hayatullah had claimed three lives with four persons on both sides sustaining injuries.

Three sons of Hayatullah were killed by the sons of Khanji and in revenge two sons of Khanji were injured and Khanji was imprisoned and died.

Governor Mohammad Agha Hakim told the reconciliation gathering that Islam was the religion of brotherhood and ended enmities between Muslims of thousands of years.

He said peace was a blessing. He added the leadership of Panjshir Province had established a committee Conflict Resolution Committee” to solve family, ethnic and logical conflicts in Panjshir and help such families lives normal life.

Maulvi Qiamuddin Hanif, head of Panjshir Ulema Council, praised the achievements of the committee and acknowledged that compared to the past, personal enmities had been reduced and resolved throughout the province.
