Medical mystery: Uruzgan child sheds tears of blood

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A child in central Uruzgan province begins to shed blood from his eyes when cries and his ailment has stumped local doctors.

Public Health Department official Dr. Mohammadullah Rohani told Pajhwok Afghan News the child lived with the alarming medical condition in Sarab area of Chora district.

“When this child cries, he sheds blood from his eyes instead of tears and his nose also bleeds.”

He said: “Preliminary examination at Tirinkot hospital shows the child has no disease. The child has been transferred to Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar for better examination,”

Saifullah, father of the child named Haidar said his child developed the disease eight months ago.

He said Haidar’s eyes shed blood when he was crying instead of tears.

According to him, initially he took his son to Uruzgan provincial hospital and then to Mirwais Hospital.

He asked relevant authorities to help him in treating his son.
