KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Some newly graduated students of a semi-medical higher education institute in southeastern Khost province have asked the government to provide them with job opportunities.
They said in the current situation work opportunities for youth were limited and currently thousands of people who have been graduated from higher education institutions were unemployed.
Some students expressed these views during their graduation ceremony.
Sayed Akbar Salaar, one of the newly graduates, told Pajhwok Afghan News ever year thousands of youth were graduated from higher and semi-higher education institutions but a small number were hired and provided with work opportunities and the remaining meet unknown fate.
He asked the government officials to provide work opportunities to these youths in different areas.
Salaar said: “If we say about the work area, the work area is really limited now and this is the truth and the truth cannot be hidden, we ask authorities to provide work opportunities for every youth.”
Azizullah Zaland, the pharmacy student and fresh graduate, said their future is linked with the current government.
He said thousands of youth who have even master degree were unemployed and faced uncertain future.
He also asked the government to generate jobs for all unemployed youths.
He said: “Every young person, every student who graduates, hopes to have a good future and a job, but many graduate students in Afghanistan are jobless and unemployed. Our request to the government is to remove this unemployment.”
Public Health Director Dr. Sher Gul Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News government specially the Public Health Ministry provided work opportunities to thousands of fresh graduates.
He said efforts were underway to generate work opportunities for fresh graduates in public and private sector.
