55kg crystal seized, 2 suspects detained in Laghman

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Security forces have seized 55kgs of crystal and detained two suspects in eastern Laghman province, officials said on Thursday.

Police Spokesman Younis Yousufzai told Pajhwok Afghan News 110 packets (55kg) of crystal S variety discovered from a fielder-type vehicle in the Surkhakan area of Kabul-Jalalabad highway last night.

“Two people named --- Khan Alam, a Ghaziabad resident of Ilishang district of Laghman and another one, a resident of Chinar village, Rudat district of Nangarhar, were detained in connection to alleged drug trafficking,” he said.

Yusoufzai said police have launched investigation and would hand over the detainees to judicial organs.
