Heratis slam Israeli atrocities against Palestinians

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Chanting “Death to Israel and America”, residents of western Herat province have pledged all-out support to the people of Palestine.

While protesting Israel’s aggression, they called on Muslim countries to break their silence on the deadly onslaught by the "Zionist regime ".

They condemned the crimes of Israeli forces against the people of Palestine and urged leaders of Islamic countries stop behaving like silent spectators.

The protestors emphasised on defending the helpless people of Palestine. Doing so was the religious duty of every Muslim, they said.

One of the protestors, Sulaiman Ahmadi, accused Israel the of the genocide of the Palestinians and said the occupation regime had committed unforgivable atrocities by targeting civilians, especially children and women.

Deputy Governor Maulvi Hayatullah Mohajir also condemned the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, by Israel.

Haniyeh was killed in an attack last week in Tehran, where he had been invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony of President Masoud Pezeshkian.

While underlining the need for unity among Muslims, the deputy governor prayed for the Palestinian martyrs.

Mohajir called for an immediate end to the Israeli regime's crimes and said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) stood by the Palestinian mujahideen.

Information and Culture Director Maulvi Ahmadullah Muttaqi asked Muslim countries to prevent the atrocities of Israel and help put an end to the war.

The participants of the gathering complained the leaders of Muslim countries especially the Arab world, had been silent on the crimes of Israeli forces against the people of Palestine.
