16 wounded in Kunar roof cave-in, accident

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): At least 16 people have been wounded in two separate incidents in eastern Kunar province, officials said on Saturday.

Faridullah Tahqan, an official at the police headquarters, told Pajhwok Afghan News 10 people were wounded on Friday when a pick-up vehicle flipped over in Narai district.

He said one of the inured was evacuated to the main provincial hospital in critical condition.

He blamed the accident on deteriorated condition of the road.

Separately, six member of a family, including three children, were injured as a result of a roof collapse incident in Sawakai district on Friday night, said Ihsanullah, director of the Natural Disaster Preparedness Department.

He added a rescue team had been dispatched to the area to provide the affected family with initial assistance.
