PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Two drinking water supply networks costing 13 million afghanis have been completed and put into service in central Logar province, an official said on Thursday.
Rural Rehabilitation and Development Director Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Rashid told Pajhwok Afghan News the projects had been funded by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
These development projects consumed 13 million afghanis and took one year to completed, facilitating six hundred families.
He said: “Two deep wells have been dug for both networks, 75 solar panels have been installed, two large water reservoirs with a capacity of 50 cubic meters of water have been built and 13,000 meters of water pipes extended to residential houses””
Meanwhile, Mohammad Salim, a Charkh resident, told Pajhwok: “We are happy that two drinking water supply networks have been built in Noora and Kart-e-Khwajaghar villages of the district”.
About 12 other drinking water supply networks will be completed and put into service as soon as possible in Pul-i-Alam city.
