2 killed, 1 wounded in Badghis incidents

QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Two people died and a third was injured in two separate incidents in western Badghis province, an official said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Sediqullah Sediqi told Pajhwok Afghan News both incidents took place in Jawand district.

First a man gunned down his spouse and shot injured his father-in-law in Jalaye area of Jwand district on Friday.

He said the incident occurred due to family violence. The suspect has fled from the area and security forces have launched an investigation into the incident.

Separately, a 7-year-old boy drowned in a shallow and died in Ferozabad area of Jawand district, the police spokesman said.

“Maybe the child wanted to play in water, but the water was too deep and he drowned and died”: Sediqi explained.

According to him, the child’s dead body was retrieved from water and handed over to his family.
