MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): A woman was killed and three others were injured as flash floods devastated agricultural lands and damaged nearly 50 houses in eastern Laghman province.
Natural Disasters Director Qari Khair Mohammad Ghazi told Pajhwok Afghan News heavy rains unleashed floods in Alishing, Badpash, Alingar districts and Mehtarlam city yesterday. The floods also caused financial losses.
“A woman was swept away by floodwater and died and three people have been injured in the center, Alishang and Badpakh districts and hundreds of acres of agricultural land and 45 residential houses have been partially destroyed in the village”.
According to him, they helped the affected families with non-food items and household appliances, but asked relief organizations to help the flood victims in the province.
