MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Around 2,500 acres of grabbed state land in the Nahr-i-Shahi district of northern Balkh province has been retrieved, an official said on Friday.
Walayat Khan Haji Agha, Land Authority director in Balkh, told Pajhwok Afghan News, the grabbed state land was retrieved in the Watani and Afghani villages and handed over to the state treasury.
He said since the launch of a Commission to get back grabbed state lands, around 30,000 acres of land has been retrieved.
District Land Authority Director Ahmadullah Ahmadi termed public support in retrieving grabbed state lands vital and said the process of getting back state land was underway and efforts were underway to get back all grabbed lands.
Meanwhile, local resident have asked the government to grant this land to them on lease.
