KABUL (Pajhwok): A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MoAIL) has travelled to China to attend a trilateral agriculture conference between Afghanistan, China and Pakistan.
The delegation, headed by Maulvi Sediqullah Rahmani, director of seed certification at MoAIL, left Kabul for China late on Saturday, the ministry said in a statement.
Without revealing when the conference is scheduled to begin, the ministry said it will last 10 days in Xian city of China.
China’s agricultural initiatives, including its 10-year agricultural strategy and the key elements driving China’s agricultural evolution and advancement, will come up for discussion in the conference.
The agenda will encompass discussions on enhancing the capacity of agricultural laborers and farmers, as well as strategies to attain self-sufficiency in agriculture within China.
Deliberations will also focus on topics such as cotton and maize cultivation, irrigation methodologies, irrigation technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), and their applications in agricultural progress.
The Afghan delegation will also visit agricultural facilities, machinery and equipment in China.
