JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A former transport director has been killed in eastern Nangarhar province, local officials said on Sunday.
Information and Culture Director Maulvi Seddiqullah Quraishi told Pajhwok Afghan News, the victim -- Dr. Ayub Sharafat -- was killed in Farm Adda area on Saturday afternoon.
Quraishi said Sharafat had served as head of the transport directorate in Nangarhar and the reason for his murder was personal enmity.
According to Quraishi, security forces have launched a manhunt for the killers of the ex-director, who hailed from the Koz Kunar district of Nangarhar.
