Faryab man flees after stabbing brother to death

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A man has been stabbed to death by his brother in Maimana, the capital of northern Faryab province, an official said on Saturday.

Information and Culture Director Shamsuddin Mohammadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the man was killed by his brother with a knife.

He said the motive behind Friday’s murder in the third police district of the provincial capital was yet to be known.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Ismail Forqani, counter-terrorism department chief at the police headquarters, said the killer fled the scene, but security forces had started efforts to arrest him.
