FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): The Anti-Narcotics Department of northeastern Badakhshan province has seized 1,141 kilograms of opium and arrested two individuals in connection with the case.
Shafiqullah Hafiz, head of the Anti-Narcotics Department, said that counter-narcotics police intercepted a tanker truck containing the drugs, which were skillfully concealed for transport from Badakhshan to neighboring provinces.
The seizure occurred in Kasham district on Thursday night.
Hafiz confirmed that the two arrested individuals have been referred to judicial authorities.
He reiterated his message to farmers, urging them not to cultivate narcotics, and warned smugglers to stop transportation activities, emphasizing that the Islamic Emirate's position is clear and legal action will be taken against violators.
