KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Maulvi Abdul Kabir says neighbouring countries should stop creating problems for Afghan businesspeople and provide essential facilities for the development of bilateral trade.
He said this at a meeting with dried fruit merchants here on Wednesday, the Presidential Palace wrote on its X handle.
Traders appreciated the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) for providing them with necessary facilities.
They commended the measures taken by the interim government to eliminate the illegal extortion and pressure exerted on traders.
They noted a significant increase in the export of dried fruits, especially to India and the United Arab Emirates, in the last three years.
They added hundreds of tonnes of dried fruits were being exported every month. They also urged the deputy premier for the removal of restrictions on the banking sector and facilitation of Indian visas.
The businesspeople went on to request the allocation of land to dried fruit merchants in Kabul.
For his part, the deputy premier promised he would direct the relevant entities for finding solutions to their problems.
He also assured them they would discuss with Indian officials facilities for issuing visas to Afghan businesspeople.
Kabir said neighbouring countries should stop creating problems for Afghan businessmen and create necessary facilities for the development of bilateral trade.
He added according to the policy of the Islamic Emirate, land would be allocated to dried fruit traders, who would be provided with all possible facilities.
