KABUL (Pajhwok): The Salang highway — a key link between Kabul and northern provinces — reopened for passenger vehicles this morning, an official said on Friday.
On his X account, Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW), wrote snowfall had stopped and the route had reopened for the passenger vehicles stuck on both sides of Salang Pass.
Authorities were on high alert to keep the route open for all sorts of traffic if it did not snow again, the MoPW spokesman continued.
