Hurricane Milton claims 16 lives in Florida

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 16 people have died in Florida due to Hurricane Milton, according to media reports.

The storm made landfall near Siesta Key on Wednesday night as a Category 3 hurricane, CBS reported.

Hurricane Milton moved across the Florida peninsula and then into the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday.

More than 2.5 million customers were left without power in Florida, as reported by utility tracker Find Energy.

Local agencies have reported storm-related fatalities, as confirmed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
