KABUL (Pajhwok): A delegation of scholars from Uzbekistan says their visit is aimed at expanding ties between the countries in diverse fields.
The delegation met with deputy prime minister for administrative affairs Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi yesterday, a press release from the Presidential Palace said.
The press release quoted the Grand Mufti of Uzbekistan and the head of the delegation, Sheikh Nuruddin Khaliqnazar, as saying the purpose of their visit was to strengthen relations between the two countries.
He said Uzbekistan and Afghanistan enjoyed religious, historical and cultural commonalities, which could be used in expanding bilateral relations in various fields . . .
