Public opinions needed for good governance: Baghlan governor

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Governor of northern Baghlan province Maulvi Abdul Rahman Haqqani has underlined the need for incorporating people’s opinions in ensuring good governance.

He said this at a meeting with local people about security, economic development, reconstruction and good governance.

The governor said security has been ensured in the country after five decades, however to protect this security necessary measures were required.

He acknowledged there were some problems in some areas, but said people should give necessary advice to the authorities in order to resolve them and establish better governance.

Mohammad Kabir Ahmadzai, a participate of the meeting and inhabitant of Dandghori district, said the presence of irresponsible armed men in the city was making people distrustful on the security situation.

Also, one of the participants of the meeting and a resident of Dandghori district, Mohammad Kabir Ahmadzai, spoke on behalf of other participants

Some other participants also asked the officials concerned to ensure good governance, urban services, environmental protection, economic growth and reconstruction and also shared their suggestions with them, which were fully corroborated by the officials.
