Road being constructed in Sar-i-Pul city

SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): A road is being concreted at a cost of more than eight million and 500,000 afghanis in northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Saturday.

Mayor Maulvi Fazl Manan Omari said this road will be 560 meters long, seven meters wide and 20cm thick.

The road is estimated to cost eight million and 674,000 afghanis funded by municipality’s budget, which will be put into services in five months.

He said the municipality had begun major reconstruction projects in the province that would add beauty to the city.

According to deputy governor Damla Mohammad Nader Haqjo, officials are trying to provide standard services to the people.

“Fortunately, Sar-i-Pul municipality alone has done a lot of work in the field of reconstruction and beautification of the city and these efforts will continue”: Haqjo added.

“We are happy that our roads are concreted and the problems of people are being solved,” Syed Wali Alizai, a gozar lawyer at the 1<sup>st</sup> district, explained.

He asked the road contractor to expedite work in order the people face no problem in winter.
