Iran, Pakistan to boost trade, energy cooperation

KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran and Pakistan have emphasised on enhanced bilateral ties through boosting trade and energy cooperation as well as better border management.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbess Araghchi met his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The two sides stressed the need for enhanced bilateral ties between Islamabad and Tehran through increasing trade, energy cooperation and border management.

They discussed the situation in the Middle East, underlining their shared vision for responding to common challenges through coordinated efforts.

Both sides strongly condemned Israeli genocidal acts in Gaza and expressed their common resolve in supporting the inalienable right to self-determination of the Palestinian people.

Reaffirming the unique relationship between Pakistan and Iran, the two sides committed to working together for their mutual benefit.

Before making a swing through the region, the Iranian foreign minister arrived in Islamabad on official two-day visit on Tuesday.
