1 killed, 5 wounded in Wardak collision

MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): An individual has been killed and five others have been injured as a result of a traffic accident in central Wardak province, an official said on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Mohammad Yousuf Asrar told Pajhwok Afghan News the overnight collision took place between a truck and Corolla-type car on the Kabul-Kandahar highway in the Mesheng Kala area of Syedabad district.

He said: “The car hit a pedestrian before it crashed into a Mazda truck. One person was killed and five car passengers were injured.”

The injured were evacuated to health centres by security forces and residents, the police spokesman added.

According to Asrar, the accident occurred due to rash driving. Two weeks ago, an accident had left four people died and injured in the same district.
