Over 10,000 acres of state land wrested back last month: MoJ

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Land Grab Prevention Commission (LGPC) has wrested back more than 10,000 acres of state land from grabbers in six provinces of the country during the last one month, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) announced on Wednesday.

MoJ wrote on its X handle LGPC reclaimed 20,376 jirbs state land and handed it over to relevant authorities in southern Kandahar, northern Kunduz, Jawzjan, western Ghor, southeastern Khost and central Panjsher provinces.

It said most of the reclaimed lands measuring about 9,610 jirbs were located in Kandahar province.

The ministry said the technical delegation of the Land Grab Prevention Commission had also identified 316,813 jirbs of state land in 25 provinces and about 375,742 jirbs is under investigation in 31 provinces.

The Ministry of Justice said the process of investigation, consolidation and restoration of state lands was ongoing in all provinces of the country.

The commission concerned is investigating the cases of thousands of acres of confiscated lands.
