KABUL (Pajhwok): A six months long vocational training course has been completed in eastern Kunar province in which 450 individuals received training, an official said on Monday.
Provincial Director of Labor and Social Affairs Maulvi Mujibullah Omar told a gathering that today (Monday) 450 people from the provincial capital and various districts completed vocational training.
He said that this six months vocational training program was implemented with the financial support of the United Nations World Food Program and these people were given six-month vocational training in the fields of mobile phone repair, carpentry and carpet weaving.
He says that in addition to vocational training, each trainee was also given 6,400 afs per month through this program, which has greatly helped them in reducing their economic problems.
Mohammad Yousuf, a young graduate of this training, said: “I am happy that I received six months of training in mobile phone manufacturing and from now on, I will earn a living for my family through the art I have learned.”
He asked the Islamic Emirate to provide training to other young people in these fields so that they can become business owners.
It is worth noting that with the arrival of the Islamic Emirate, short-term training opportunities have been provided to approximately 2,500 young people in Kunar under the umbrella of the Department of Labor and Social Affairs with the help of various partner organizations.
