KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi and UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri have discussed several economic issues.
Muttaqi met UAE Economic Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri on Thursday, the deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) wrote on his X handle.
Zia Ahmad Takal said the talks focused on the extraction of minerals, agricultural mechanization, the recruitment of Afghan workers to the UAE, and the normalization of banking relations between the two countries.
Al Marri shared an overview of the current economic situation in the UAE and expressed keen interest in expanding trade ties with Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Muttaqi provided an overview of Afghanistan's economic conditions, investment opportunities, and potential areas for cooperation.
During their meeting, they conducted comprehensive discussions on trade facilitation, the expansion of bilateral trade and transit, as well as the recruitment of Afghan workers.
Both sides agreed to form technical teams to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives, aiming to bolster bilateral economic relations.
Muttaqi travelled to the UAE on Tuesday at the head of a delegation.
