KABUL (Pajhwok): About 76 people have been killed and dozens injured as a result of a fire at a ski resort hotel in Turkey, a media report said on Wednesday.
Reuters reported: “The fire began around 3:30am (0030 GMT) on the restaurant floor of the 12-storey Grand Kartal Hotel.” It said 76 individuals had been killed and dozens injured in the blaze.
“It was like the apocalypse. The flames engulfed the hotel immediately, like in half an hour,” said Mevlut Ozer, who witnessed the incident.
President Tayyip Erdogan declared Wednesday a day of national mourning.
