TALOQAN (Pajhwok): A man and a woman have been killed after two thieves entered a house in northern Takhar province. On suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police spokesman Mohammad Akbar Haqqani said the incident took place in Chobur area of Taloqan city on Monday night.
He said: “A verbal dispute occurred between the robbers and the house residents, and after the argument, the robbers killed a 60-year-old woman and a 73-year-old man with a stick and a knife, and later sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl."
However, he did not provide information about the relationship between the woman and the man.
Haqqani said: “After a comprehensive investigation, the personnel of the First Security Zone of Takhar Province police arrived at the scene of the incident and arrested one person on the charge of murder, as there were clear signs of murder and blood on his clothes. Another person has fled the area."
According to him, police have also stared their investigation to arrest the fleeing suspect.
