Herat-Kandahar railway line designing contracts singed  

KABUL (Pajhwok): Five contacts related to the detailed design work of Herat-Kandahar railway line has been signed with five companies, an official said on Thursday.

Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works, wrote on his x handle that the acting minister of the ministry, Mullah Mohammad Issa Sani, signed five contracts worth about 246 million afs with five companies related to the detailed design of the 737.5-kilometer Herat-Kandahar railway line, which will be completed within eight months.

The source wrote that the first part is the Herat-Shindand route, which is 120 kilometers long, and the detailed survey and design work has been contracted to the Afghan-German Construction, Road Construction and Railway Company at a cost of 51,978, 999 Afghanis.

The source added that the second part is the Shindand-Farah route, which is 120 kilometers long, and the detailed design work has been contracted to the Hask Engineering Services Company at a cost of 45 million 631 thousand 267 Afghanis.

According to the source, the third part is the Farah-Zaranj-Ghor route, which is 188.8 kilometers long and has been awarded a detailed design contract worth 69,278,567 afs to Hasak Engineering Services Company. The source said that the fourth part is the Ghor-Lashkargah route, which is 171 kilometers long and has been awarded a detailed design contract worth 60,331,408 Afghanis to Arya Khan Afghan Construction and Logistics Services Company.

The source added that the fifth section is the Lashkargah-Kandahar route, which is 137.7 kilometers contracted for a detailed design work worth 37,315,742 afs to Arya Khan Construction, Design and Logistic Company.

According to the Ministry of Public Works, after the completion of the detailed survey and design work of the project, the practical work will also begin, depending on the financing of the project budget.
